DRAFT for legal review. This is a plain-language draft for a small software company. It is not legal advice, and it is not a final policy or contract.

Draft date: 7 November 2026

Who we are

OrderWalk is a phone-first app for counting what a restaurant has on hand and turning that count into vendor orders. Hackwise Labs LLC, a Pennsylvania company, operates it from the United States.

Product questions go to [email protected]. Questions about the company go to [email protected].

This website

orderwalk.com is a static website. It does not ask you to create an account, and it does not set cookies. It does not load an analytics tracker.

A short script can remember the name of a button you click, in memory, for that browser tab only. Nothing in that list is sent to us. It is there so a tracker can be connected later. Until then, it stays on your device and disappears when you close the tab.

The app

The app is separate from this website. Start free and Try the demo open the app. The demo is sample data in the tab you have open. It is not saved to an account.

When you sign in, we store the email address for that restaurant. There is no password. You get a 6-digit code and a one-time link by email.

Restaurant data

For a signed-in restaurant we store the restaurant record, vendors, storage lists, items, counts, units, pack sizes, notes, prices, par levels, order history, and team members.

A team member has an email, a display name, and a role. An invite stores the invited email, name, and role until it is accepted or it expires. When team mode is on, a count or a completed order can store the name of the person who did it.

A photo you add is stored with the item. A barcode you save is stored with the item. Restaurant data is hosted with Supabase, including the database, the sign-in account, and item photos. Photos are in a private bucket.

Invoices

Invoice photo capture is a paid feature after a 14-day trial. A photo or PDF you submit is sent to xAI (Grok) so the lines and prices can be read. You confirm that reading before it is saved. The demo does not send invoices.

A unit price that is higher than the last price you paid can be flagged. Price history is part of the paid plan.

Orders you send

Sending an order opens the email, text, or WhatsApp already on your phone, with that vendor’s lines filled in. OrderWalk does not run its own mailbox for those orders.

A manager can also share an order with a link. Anyone with the link can see the lines still to order: name, quantity, unit, and notes. The link does not show prices, photos, barcodes, pars, history, or the team. Stop sharing turns the link off.

On the phone

The signed-in app keeps a copy of the kitchen on the device so it can open when the walk-in has no signal. That copy can include lists, counts, prices, history, queued edits, and photos waiting to upload. Signing out removes that account’s copy from the device.

Theme, language, par, and dismissed tips are stored in the browser and, once you are signed in, on the account. Language choices are English and Spanish. The text of a vendor order stays in English.

Reminders

Reminders are a paid feature. If you turn them on, we store a push subscription for that phone and the reminder itself: which list, which days, the time, and the restaurant time zone. We use that only to send the reminder.

On an iPhone, push needs OrderWalk on the Home Screen and a system that can receive web push. If a push does not arrive, the app can still show a banner you can dismiss. The demo does not subscribe or send.

We do not sell data

We do not sell personal information or restaurant data. We do not use it for advertising.

If a barcode is not already on an item, the app can ask Open Food Facts for a product name and picture. That request sends the barcode. You can skip it and type the name.

Deletion and export

Settings can download a backup to your device: a JSON file of lists, items, the catalog, and pars, and a CSV of items. That download is not uploaded by the app. Order history and photos are not in those files.

The owner can delete a restaurant in Settings. A manager or counter can leave the team. If you cannot finish it in the app, email [email protected] from the account address.

Children and changes

OrderWalk is for restaurant work. It is not directed at children.

If this draft becomes a final policy, the date on this page will change with it. Until then, treat this page as a draft for legal review.
